About Us
The “Museum of Ancient Sculpture” exhibits various pieces of ancient sculpture dating from the Roman Empire, the Egyptian Dynasties, the ancient Greek civilization and the Etruscan culture. The collection is one of the largest collections in the Midwest and features many rare items not exhibited in other museums. The collection was assembled only from purchases made from the international auction houses of Sotheby’s and Christie’s. These two houses hold international auctions in antiquities in New York City in June and December of each year so that collectors and museums from all over the world can come to bid on the items offered.
The “Museum of Ancient Sculpture” will present to the visitors to the park the unique contrast in one location of contemporary sculpture made by world famous artists in the outdoor museum of over 250 acres, and the ancient sculpture thousands of years’ old in the new “Museum of Ancient Sculpture” building.
